DotA Survivor - 17: Cruelty and Kindness

Piemonger danced over the mossy and dangerous rocks in the crystalline river, exercising his body and testing his flexibility. He had trained hard since his escape from that pig, and had honed his attacks to strike the sorest vulnerabilities of his enemies. Yesterday the Phantom Assassin trained. Today he hunted.

While the vast forest had become quieter in the past weeks, it was not particularly difficult to find an adversary if one desired an encounter. However, by this point in the game, distraction and information was the key to giving the edge needed to best an opponent. Information was especially useful in Piemonger’s opinion. The taverns were an excellent place to acquire information of all sorts. The news of the elimination of the Techies was a relief, although the Phantom Assassin was fully confident in his ability to detect at least the land mines. The remote mines were a problem but they were thankfully gone now. As for the invisible enemies, Piemonger had already surprised them…What you see is not the only way of sensing an enemy. At the thought, his ears perked up to listen to his surroundings. He gave a little giggle at the sound he heard and abruptly put his hand over his mouth in shock at the noise. However when he came in viewing distance of his possible enemy, his amusement changed quickly to disgust.

Ldraggy was sunbathing in the glorious aura of the sun, grunting softly in pleasure. There was an almost comedic symphony when his pig pet joined in. Piemonger was forced to duck down in the brush however, to avoid the hawk that was flying high above. Something rustled in the bushes nearby and Piemonger froze…But nothing more came of it and he dismissed it with difficulty. With both a sense of curiosity and sense of unbelieving, Piemonger peaked over the corner of the ledge at the Beastmaster…And recoiled. LDraggy was sunbathing in the nude, his loincloth discarded casually to the side. “Has he discarded any shred of decency he has left...?” Piemonger thought, then an idea came to his head and he giggled and snorted again, his manliness fading and then re-establishing itself. This would be great!

LDraggy sighed in pleasure. He had been taking it easy since his panther meal. Why did everyone have to fight anyway? LDraggy only regretted the lack of something good to drink while he scratched the sparse hair on the head of his pet pig before it popped into thin air. That was the signal to resummon them, and the beastmaster did so before resuming his happy state. A sharp cry from his hawk alerted him, but he could not react before several blurring objects moving at great speed narrowly missed. He swiftly sat up to see who his assailant was, felt a spurt of warm liquid hit his chest and with a low sinking feeling of dread, started to feel extreme pain in his groin area. When he turned to assess his pain his howl of shock and terror seemed to shake the boles of all the trees in the forest. Its potency was not entirely misused. A strong part of the blast had hit Piemonger who had already started to rush the Beastmaster. LDraggy immediately commanded his pig to attack the assailant, gathered his loincloth and started to run. The Phantom Assassin was approaching nearer and nearer, darting from the covers of the trees and heavy bush cover. However Piemonger was not quick enough, and in desperation to reach the BeastMaster he blink striked to the closer pig summon. With the Beastmaster within blink strike reach he started to incant again to strike the profusely bleeding LDraggy. However the pigs poison quills slowed and sapped Piemonger’s muscles and by the time he was finished, the Beastmaster had cleverly ducked out of sight, if not out of range and Piemonger started to attack the pig that had begun to infuriate him. At least he could take his anger out on this…pathetic thing. The hawk continued to screech high above.

With his blade coming down in hasteto sever the pigs head he had not noticed the hot floating stream of phlegm that smacked him in the side of his face and threw him to the warm forest ground harshly. Sharp quills flew through the air in all directions, casting the hawk from the sky and turning the pig into a semi-porcupine carcass. Piemonger, his muscles aching from the poison in his blood, struggled to get up on his legs and cried in distress when a stronger blast of snot hit him in the face, suffocating him. Further waves of quills shredded leaves and tunneled their way through the Phantom Assassins armour and into his flesh. A flail travelled through the air and knocked off the snot covering the face while more quills continued their frenzied assault. Piemonger gasped in pain and realised too late that his snorting before did not actually belong to him. “Son of a bitch…You’ve been following me all this time…?” Piemonger rasped.
“I told you I would have your soul Piemonger…And I meant it.” Inde_ed grunted.
The world lurched and the Phantom Assassins eyes were eclipsed as his life force left his body.
